The new visitor centre has won the UK category of the British Guild of Travel Writers’ top annual tourism awards.

 

Each tourism project was nominated by a Guild member and selected via a secret ballot of the Guild’s 270 professional journalists, writers, editors, photographers, broadcasters and bloggers.

The new centre fought off stiff competition to take the top UK award, which was presented to Dr Richard Buckley from the University of Leicester at a glittering awards ceremony held at the Savoy Hotel, London.
