We are delighted that two of our projects have been recognised in the recent Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ East Midlands Awards.
Derby College’s Roundhouse was crowned the overall winner on the night, scooping the coveted Project of the Year Award. It also won the Regeneration category and was highly commended in the Conservation category.
In addition, The University of Nottingham’s Geospatial Building was highly commended in the Sustainability category.
“The Roundhouse has been a fantastic project to work on and one that I think everyone who has been involved with feels extremely passionate about,” said Ian Harris, a director at maber architects. “The Roundhouse has such a colourful and interesting history we felt it important to reflect this in its redesign by creating a vibrant dialogue between the restored historic buildings of the railway works and our contemporary new buildings and insertions. We are delighted that it has received such great recognition at the RICS Awards.”
“We are also proud that the Geospatial Building was highly commended for sustainability,” he added. “It is clear recognition for the BREEAM ‘excellent rating’ design-stage rating that we achieved for the building.”
