Mark Hobson

 

As Managing Director, Mark has a key role for the strategic development of the practice and the generation of new business.  He holds the position as one of the first point client contacts and also heads up the company’s marketing strategy.  He has the overall responsibility for design quality and conceptual development on major projects.

Mark studied at the Manchester Metropolitan University graduating in 1987 with a special commendation in Urban Design.

Mark joined maber in 1996 and became a Director in 2002 taking up the post of Managing Director in December 2004.

He has experience with both new build and refurbishment projects across many work sectors including commercial, retail, residential, education and community projects. His involvement in these diverse areas has contributed to the strong client base that the practice enjoys. 

In recent years he acted as Director in charge of a number of significant projects including the redevelopment of the Former General Hospital Site at Standard Hill, Nottingham and redevelopment of the Former Hooleys Garage Site amongst others.

Mark has lectured at the RIBA on sustainable design issues and is a member of the steering group for the Nottingham Design 10 initiative.  Through various projects Mark has handled major design reviews with CABE and OPUN at both local and national level.
