We had a great visit to Umbrella (a local charity that supports disabled children, young people and their families) to present them with a £1,000 cheque donated by the 16@Seven business club that we are part of.

16@Seven brings together fellow property and construction industry decision makers across Derbyshire and the wider East Midlands four times a year at venues across Derby to encourage and enhance regional investment and growth.

Steve Basran, who heads up our Derby office and was at the presentation, shares the background to the donation given by the members of the 16@ seven club:

“To mark the end of another successful year for the club, which has already seen a number of deals and contracts being secured throughout Derbyshire, we wanted to make a donation to a local charity. We are all proud to be able to support Umbrella, as it works hard helping people realise their potential and to transform lives”.

We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen by 16@Seven to receive this very generous donation.  As a local charity supporting disabled children and young adults in the area we are pleased a group of local businesses chose to support us. Donations like this are used in a number of ways; whether it is to support a group activity, buy play equipment, purchase specialist equipment for our service users or for subsidising trips. Every penny makes a difference. When donations like this come in, it also opens up opportunities to build links with local businesses and offers platforms to help increase our profile within the local area raising awareness of who we are and what we do.

Kristin Clark, General Manager at Umbrella expressed her thanks to the group:
