Steve Williams, our director of more than 30 years is stepping down. Steve joined maber just a few months after the company’s inception 32 years ago.

Managing Director, Mark Hobson, who has worked with Steve for 20 years, and took over as head of the practice from founder Colin Maber, in 2004, said:

“Steve has been instrumental in building the business to where we are now, and it is largely thanks to him that we are perfectly positioned to begin the next chapter in our growth story.”

Steve, an architectural technologist, has decided it is time for a new challenge and is exploring several opportunities in the property sector. “With brilliant young people coming through, it’s the right moment for the practice for me to step aside. The next generation need to see a course to the top.”

Aged 58, Steve has no intention of retiring “It’s the right time for myself and my family to move on and look for a new challenge and work-life balance. I have too much energy for retirement.”

“Mark looks to the future, and under his leadership, we have developed through a series of five-year plans. That kind of forward-looking work is important, and Mark has fulfilled that role well, setting our course and direction.”

Among the many projects Steve was responsible for are the Trinity House building and NG2 business park. One of his final projects for maber, is the new cricket pavilion community project on Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment.

We thank Steve for all that he has done for maber and wish him well with the next chapter in his life.
