We had a great morning presenting at ProCon Nottingham’s Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence event held at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus.

Virtual and augmented reality is a fast developing technology and is proving to be a really useful tool within the construction industry, bringing benefits to the client, stakeholders and the design team.

Our BIM Manager, Josh Chrystal and Associate, Alex Lipinski, gave an overview of how VR was applied during the design of NTU’s Engineering & IIDRA building, with NTU’s Phil Hollis contributing to the presentation from a client’s perspective of using VR.

A tour of the Engineering building, which is currently under construction, then gave guests a chance to to see just how similar ‘virtual reality’ and ‘actual reality’ can be!

With the tours complete, everyone was keen to have a play. Josh and Alex were on hand to offer folk the chance to experience VR for themselves and share any advice from maber’s use of VR.

A group of school children were also visiting the University Campus.

Introducing construction industry professionals to the latest technology is great –  a passing opportunity to inspire the next generation is an added bonus!
