We are really excited to be able to finally unveil the masterplan for the former Corah factory site in Leicester.

We have been working for nearly two years with clients City Regen Leicester and Galliford Try Investment on an ambitious masterplan to create a new residential quarter within the St. Margarets area of Leicester.

The scheme is centred around the rejuvenation of the oldest of the original factory buildings, the Old Textile Building, and the repurposing of Corah Green as a public open space. New pedestrian orientated routes will link Corah Green to Burleys Way and the City Centre beyond and across the canal to Abbey Park. New routes across the St. Margarets area will also be created. Along this network of new routes a series of green, open spaces will establish a high quality environment.

The masterplan puts people first. Access for cars will be limited to the site’s perimeter giving pedestrians and cyclists freedom to move safely through the site. maber have provided an integrated masterplanning, architecture and landscape service for the project. Ensuring that the scheme not only creates a characterful and attractive place to live, but also delivers a commercially viable solution that can be delivered.

We are looking forward to hearing from the public now and seeing what they make of the proposals.

Further details of the scheme can be found at the Corah Regeneration website.
