The new purpose built fire station has been designed to be highly energy efficient and uses renewable technology.  It will replace an out of date existing fire station at Eastgate, which now is too costly to run. 

The new station comprises a two storey building and an adjoining single storey appliance bay ‘garage’ for 3 fire engines. The main building will accommodate a gym, meeting rooms, offices and community room. An external three-storey training tower, a generator and landscaping to the grounds complete the project.

We were delighted to be part of the ceremony along with representatives of Nottingham Fire & Rescue Service, Worksop Blue Watch and On-call firefighters – some of who will crew the new station, and of course the contractors, GF Tomlinson.

The new station is due to complete in Spring and is currently ahead of schedule.
