Maber is providing architecture and landscape services for a project that pays homage to Stapleford’s historic F. Chambers & Company Limited Pencil Works factory, which operated in the town until 1973.

The town centre streetscape will be enlivened by the contemporary visual aspect of the building and benefit from an improved public realm through a carefully considered landscaping scheme.

By integrating historical references with a forward-thinking design, The Pencil Works will create a unique and engaging destination that supports local businesses, fosters creativity, and enhances the character of Stapleford Town.

The Pencil Works is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
