CTC Frimley Park is a Regular Army Unit and National Centre of Excellence for cadet and adult training residential courses. The new building sits within extensive Grade II listed gardens and parkland adjacent to a Grade II listed Mansion House. (Dated 1699 and obtained by the British Armed Forces in 1957.)

The new 2 storey building comprises, at first floor, (6 bed) ensuite accommodation for full-time Officers based on the site. At ground floor there is a Mess, a new catering kitchen that serves the large dining hall and provides meals for those undertaking residential training courses, as well as a lecture theatre with raked seating and adjacent wc facilities. A new ammunition store (magazine) was also constructed.

The curved zinc roof gives the impression the two-storey building is smaller, giving a design precedence and stature to the Mansion House. The white render and zinc complement the colours of the mansion house but with a modern twist.  A first floor balcony from the officers’ quarters overlooks the parterre walled gardens and continues the contemporary design without detracting from the Mansion House itself.

The project achieved DREAM Very Good. (Defence BREEAM equivalent)

maber took the project from Stage 4 to completion.

maber’s 15 year extensive experience of working with the DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) / MOD partners, as well as the integration of Defence Security Systems on a high security site helped achieve a successful project for SERFCA.
