maber were initially appointed to undertake a masterplanning report to appraise site opportunities that would include new primary and acute community facilities, as well as look at options for surplus land uses. The report supported the business case approval to provide temporary Urgent Care facilities on site and to seek FBC approval for the new health facilities for Wellingborough. The development will encompass a planned phased construction whilst retaining operation of current services.
When finished, the health complex will provide a new Urgent Care Centre, diagnostic and outpatient environments, care beds, operating theatre, and telehealth and virtual ward facilities. The centre will improve patient care, reduce access issues and cut future costs. Support facilities include a cafe, retail units and one-stop-shop for other community services.
