Located in Nottingham’s historic Lace Market area, it is only a short walk from the city’s thriving and vibrant business and retail hub. The hotel’s intention is to capture a niche market – for clientele seeking good service, fine food and a distinctive environment.

The rooms within the properties also have different characters – from the Lace Makers’ Machine Rooms, with the low ceilings and full windows to allow in plenty of light, to the Owners House with its tall grand rooms and beautiful decoration, into the external Angel Yard and through to the old brew house and carved sandstone cellars.

The architectural and interior treatment is an interesting mixture of original features and contemporary design – glass wash hand basins and contemporary free-standing bath tubs reflect in the original sash windows; glossy mosaic tiles within the bathrooms sit happily next to the elaborate cornices; the stainless steel ironmongery sits well on the original doors and the dark American walnut furniture is a pleasant foil for the original fireplaces and tiered wooden shutters.

The organic colours create a warm, calming and intimate feel, luxurious materials for the soft furnishings were chosen as much for their texture as for their colour.
