This new production facility is a bespoke purpose built Centre of Excellence (COE) for Trelleborg Offshoreʼs diversified polyurethane manufacturing in the UK, bringing together experience, innovation and technology to one consolidated site, to house and showcase the experience that has made them so successful to date.

Located on Trinity Park, Retford, the centre is a contemporary and energy efficient building that makes an attractive addition to the park. Designed to be flexible and robust it meets the needs of Trelleborg today as well as their future requirements.

The main production space is single storey under a 4 degree dual pitch roof with rooflights that allow natural daylight into the space. Internal roof height ranges from 8m to 11m.

.

Office accommodation is provided over two storeys. Positioned in the eastern corner of the building close to the site entrance, they feature curtain walling that wraps around the corner to create an attractive focal entrance, which is clearly visible and identifiable. The contrasting bands of cladding define the office area from production.

The external fabric is constructed to a high level of thermal performance with U-values. It is long lasting and can be easily recycled at the end of the building’s life. Low energy light fittings have been used wherever possible to reduce the demand for electricity use and low water consumption sanitary fittings are installed including low-flush toilets and spray taps.

The scheme includes changing and shower facilities for up to 65 men and 20 women, a staff canteen and a laboratory. There will be approximately 85 people working in the production facility at any one time and a further 20-30 staff in the offices.
