The purpose built, 5 storey scheme is located adjacent to the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Camus and comprises 270 student bedrooms, reception, cinema, social and study spaces. Two options were designed (a grey brick and a red brick) and Planning Approval has been granted for the red brick finish. The proposed building faces onto the River Leen with generous landscaped external amenity spaces providing attractive learning and communal spaces for the students.
A new landscaped zone, with shrubs and wildflowers adjacent to the River Leen will create a habitat corridor for wildlife. The elevations are simple but elegant in design, clad in two complimentary bricks, a red multi brick to the upper storeys with a dark grey multi brick to the base. The elevations incorporate feature recessed brick panels with textured brickwork detail and bronze coloured spandrel panels.
