Dating back to 1732 the Royal Oak Inn has been elegantly restored with some crisp, colourful and well-detailed insertions.

The philosophy behind the design allowed the scheme to complement the historic quality of Royal Oak House. The building’s original features were preserved whilst offering functional and dramatic spaces for the day-to-day running of the Register Office.

A vast increase in floor space from the former Register Office allowed the number of guests attending ceremonies to be substantially increased. The completed Marriage Suite, known as the Oak Room, has seating provisions for up to 86 people and the smaller marriage room, the Acorn Room, can seat a further 22 guests. Other facilities in the suite include guest and bridal waiting rooms and direct connection to a private photography zone in the rear courtyard.
