The three storey building, the University of Nottingham’s first new build self-catered hall of residence in over 20 years, has been designed to complement the existing adjacent accommodation using a family of components designed to create continuity within the campus zone but with the addition of unique features including entrance canopies and textured brickwork to create a new identity for the building.

A landscape strategy has been developed creating two distinct courtyard spaces which will provide places for students to relax and socialise. The social courtyard has been developed as an extension of the communal dining area provided within the building, whilst the quiet courtyard relates to the new study rooms. A strong focus on biodiverse native planting flows throughout the scheme.
