The landscaping brief was to maximise the tight site to create an attractive external environment that would include planting to act as a screen and prevent overlook from the surrounding dwellings. Lawned areas at the rear provide space for the students to sit and relax.

.

Ecological objectives included tree planting to reestablish the foraging routes of bats from the surrounding area to the riverside embankments outside the site. Bat boxes are also positioned on the surrounding fences to create roosting opportunities.

The trees and shrubs planted have been carefully selected to be berrying and fruit bearing species in order to encourage birds and insects to the area.
